For both Botox and dermal fillers, we recommend coming in no later than 4 weeks before your event to allow any bruising or swelling to be completely gone. 

Are injectable treatments safe?

Are injectable treatments safe?

Absolutely. We use only FDA approved products that have a proven safety record. We take all measures necessary to provide a safe, sterile, and comfortable environment.

Although not completely pain free, injectable treatments are very well tolerated. We use a numbing cream where appropriate and some treatments also have an anesthetic added to the product.

What can I expect after my botox treatment?

What can I expect after my botox treatment?

Immediately after treatment you can expect to see temporary bumps under your skin, which will subside after about 15 minutes. A small amount of bruising is completely normal with any injection. In your consultation we’ll discuss some steps you can take to minimize bruising.

Results are gradual and take a full 2 weeks to completely set in. Each day you will see less movement in the treated areas, until day 14 when your results are at their peak.

Immediately after treatment you can expect to see an immediate, visible difference in the areas treated. You may notice some redness, swelling, and tenderness in the treated areas. This will subside over the first 24-48 hours. Ice is recommended for the first 24 hours to help alleviate swelling and discomfort. You may be able to feel where the filler was placed, this is completely normal.

Filler will fully integrate into your skin tissue within 2-4 weeks after treatment.

An allergic reaction to neuromodulators, such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, is possible, but very very uncommon. Usually, an adverse event will present itself within the first week following treatment.

Same day treatment is dependent on time. Typically a Botox treatment is quick and may be done the same day as your consult. Filler treatments may require a separate appointment.

Prior to any injectable appointment, it is recommended that you avoid anything that may thin your blood for 24 hours. This includes alcohol, caffeine, NSAID's, fish oil, vitamin E, and aspirin. Please speak with your doctor prior to withholding any prescribed blood thinners. It is also recommended that you take oral arnica supplements for a few days before and after your treatment to help reduce the amount of bruising and swelling post-procedure.
