FAQs
There is discomfort, but most patients find it is less than they imagined. Numbing cream or gel can be applied before and during the procedure if needed.
Lip Blush can trigger a cold sore outbreak. Speak to your primary care provider about getting an antiviral prescription to take prior to your Lip Blush appointment. Preventing an outbreak is important, as a cold sore can result in pigment loss and uneven healing.
I recommend bringing in your favorite daytime lip shade to your appointment. This will give me an idea of the undertone and shade that you are wanting to achieve with your lip blush tattoo. Your pigment color will then be custom blended to the desired shade. You can expect your lip blush tattoo to be brighter, warmer, and more vibrant than the final healed result.
There is little to no downtime with Lip Blush. While everyone is different, you can expect some amount of swelling for the first 24 hours post-procedure. Swelling will subside by the following day. You may ice for the 24 hours as needed.
Color may appear patchy as the top layer flakes off over the course of the first week post-procedure. You may apply a clean, tinted, moisturizing lip balm if needed.
